The Villages Public Safety Department provides a wide variety of services on a 24-hour-basis with the goal of providing a safe and well-regulated community for all residents, guests and employees.
Residents will find a friendly and professional staff located in the Public Safety Plaza at the entrance to The Villages. Uniformed Public Safety Officers will ensure that only those individuals who have been cleared as guests, or have official business in The Villages, are allowed entry. To clear a guest or vendor, merely call Public Safety stating your name, address, who you are expecting, and the length of their visit.
Our Villages’ Public Safety Officers routinely perform motorized and foot patrols of The Villages and will quickly assist residents in need. Our officers are trained in adult CPR, first aid, and certified in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (A.E.D.). For those who may have been accidentally locked out of their home, Public Safety maintains a key to all of the condominiums. No matter how trivial the issue, don’t hesitate to contact Public Safety. We are here for you.
Public Safety Officers will also respond to assist you with minor problems that occur after normal business hours such as a clogged toilet or a faucet that won’t shut properly. We also encourage residents to report any street light or exterior light fixture that is not functioning properly. Public Safety will ensure the report is forwarded to our Facilities work order desk located at the Corporation Yard.
As a new resident, you are required to register at The Villages Public Safety Administration Office located in Building C near the tennis courts. There you will register as a new resident, obtain a bar code for your vehicle(s), register your golf cart, and obtain guest passes or bar codes for family members or frequent visitors. Your Public Safety Department is also the point of contact for information and installation of the Lifeline home communicator. Just call the Public Safety Administration Office and you will be contacted by one of our Lifeline technicians.
